The identity quetion – the reason for so much violence and death – in the end comes down to this: how to maximise ‘survival fitness’ in the evolutionary sense. Do you maximise survival fitness through single person-centered fitness strategies, or group/inclusive-centered strategies? That should be the question at the heart of identity. And yet, as science advances – with the line between human and machine blurred, the identity question will surely become moot.
