Dusk in the Morning

It is the eve of her birthday and Sister Grace Dikedi Goit-Semang feels great. She recently took her first vows as a junior nun, a novitiate, and is on track to become a Catholic nun of the order of Daughters of Saint Paul, thus fulfiling her life’s dream.

Yet her sunny mood is dogged by a mild but irritating unease. She suddenly realises, in panic, why she had missed her menses! Her fears are confirmed days later when she conducts a discreet pregnancy test. Her mirror-image twin sister, ever the practical one, offers two stark options: terminate the pregnancy and stay in the convent or keep the pregnancy but quit the convent. Sister Grace thinks she can eat her cake and have it too. Can she pull it off?
