Today I paused…
to acknowledge the smile of the chestnut flower
to listen to the humming bird’s singing wings
to behold the butterfly’s brave battle with the moody breeze
to acknowledge the swallow’s swift salute as it zipped by
to notice the wind as it whispered secret wishes to me
Today I paused…
to imprison, with a smile, my random, rioting thoughts
to pin down, with a sigh, the unruly tremors of my mind
to dismiss, with indifference, the urge to fling arrows of worry
to step back from distance and time in order to better see nothing
to behold in all its inglorious glory the big smallness of me!
